This Cal Fire two-day training event is open exclusively to verified members of a Fire Safe Council, FireWise Community, and local Conservation Corps. This class will run 8 AM to 5 PM, lunch break 12-1 PM.

Event registration is now closed. 40 Qualified registrants have enrolled.

Registrants are encouraged to bring an electronic device, preferably an Apple device, as the program is optimized for Apple platforms. A limited number of iPads will be available for use as needed.

Attendees will receive digital resources that can be downloaded to their mobile devices.

Participants will receive in-depth instruction on several important topics:

• Wildfire behavior in natural and built environments

• California laws and regulations related to wildfire prevention

• Recent wildfire research, case studies, and data analysis

• Standards for creating defensible space around properties

• Home hardening techniques to reduce fire risk

• The assessment process for evaluating properties
